5 Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Hijama Clinic in Karachi

Hijama involves your skin and blood, so where you have it done genuinely matters. A good clinic means a trained practitioner, honest pricing and strict hygiene; a careless one can mean all three are missing. Before you book anywhere in Karachi, ask these five questions — and compare the answers carefully. These questions apply whether it’s your first session or you’re switching from another clinic, and the answers tell you everything about how a clinic operates. Keep this list on your phone when you call around: the clinics worth visiting will welcome these questions, because they already have good answers. We’ve included our own answers too, so you can see exactly where we stand.

1. Who will perform the hijama — and what are their qualifications?

This is the most important question of all. Hijama should be performed by a named, trained practitioner — not an unnamed “technician” whose background you can’t verify. Ask what their training is, where they studied, and how long they’ve been practising. A good clinic answers proudly and specifically; a vague or evasive answer is a red flag.

Our answer: Every session at our clinic is performed by Hakim Ubaid Aslam, a Certified Herbalist & Hijamah Therapist (Hamdard). You’ll know exactly who is treating you before you walk in — and his qualifications are stated openly, not hidden.

2. Is the pricing clear and upfront?

You should know what you’ll pay before you lie down — not after. A trustworthy clinic states its rates clearly when you ask: per cup or per session, with no hidden extras. Be cautious of places that dodge the pricing question or add surprise charges at the end of your visit.

Our answer: Our pricing is simple and stated upfront: wet cupping is Rs 400 per cup. For dry cupping and herbal consultation, message us on WhatsApp at +92 335 1214919 for current pricing — we’ll tell you the exact rates before you book, never after.

3. What hygiene protocol is followed?

Because hijama involves the skin — and wet cupping involves blood — hygiene is non-negotiable. Ask directly: are cups and blades single-use? Are fresh gloves worn for every client? Are surfaces disinfected between sessions? The right answers are yes, yes and yes. Anything reused between clients should be a deal-breaker.

Our answer: We follow a strict single-use sterile protocol: fresh sterile blades, fresh cups and fresh gloves for every client, every session, with disinfected surfaces throughout. If you visit us, feel free to ask about our process — we’re happy to explain it.

4. Will they give honest guidance — including when to see a doctor?

Be wary of any clinic that promises cures or suggests hijama can replace medical treatment. Hijama is a traditional, complementary practice — not a cure for disease. A good clinic says this openly, asks about your health background before the session, and tells you when you should consult a qualified doctor instead of, or alongside, cupping.

Our answer: We’ll always be straight with you. We make no cure claims, we ask about your health history before your session, and if something is outside what cupping is for, we’ll tell you to see a qualified doctor. Honest guidance is part of the service.

5. Is the clinic easy to reach, with timings that suit you?

Practical matters count too. Is the address clearly listed? Can you reach the clinic by phone or WhatsApp to ask questions and book? Are the opening hours realistic for your schedule? A clinic that’s hard to contact before your visit may be hard to reach afterwards.

Our answer: You’ll find us at Shop No. 1, Plot No. R-932/9, Block 9, Dastagir, Karachi. We’re open Monday to Sunday, 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM (closed on Fridays), and you can call or WhatsApp us at +92 335 1214919. Questions are welcome before you book — see our FAQs or just message us directly.
