What Is Wet Cupping (Hijama)?

Wet cupping — known as hijama — is the traditional form of cupping therapy. After creating suction with cups, small superficial incisions are made on the skin and a small amount of blood is drawn. It has been traditionally used to support general wellness and relaxation.

How Our Wet Cupping Session Works

  1. Consultation — we discuss your health and decide the number of cups.
  2. Preparation — the area is cleaned; single-use sterile cups and blades are prepared.
  3. Suction — cups are placed to create gentle suction for a few minutes.
  4. Incisions & drawing — small superficial incisions are made and a small amount of blood is drawn under suction.
  5. Aftercare — the area is cleaned, dressed, and you receive simple aftercare instructions.
